Overall Integrative Narrative
Education Has Changed my Life
Born to a very humble Central American family, I have been raised in a hard-working environment and involved with honest and persistent people in a world of hardship and poverty since I was young. This ambient has helped me to develop strengths in myself such as not taking everything I have for granted; being a good student; and most important of all, being a good learner with persevering nature.
In a world full of intellectual wonder, the ability to open the boundaries of knowledge rests within the limits of education, and in return will make the world a better place to live in. Education gives us information about the past, so we can move forward with a better understanding of the mistakes we ought not to make. In my view, education is the MOST important tool for every single human being. Education is the starting point of my current ambitions and it has played a big part in my successes. I want to be part in a world of opportunities for all, and undoubtedly I will make that happen only if I achieve my most desired dream: graduating from college.
For my academic life, I have had good chances to study and learn the most valuable material school can offer, and I have taken such opportunity with dedication. In fact, I am the only one in my family of four kids to pursue a college education. None of my parents posses an elementary school diploma. At the times of hardship and in a country where food was and still is scarce, studying was a luxury which they could not fulfill. On the other hand, I now have the opportunity to continue my academic journey by having attended a good institution as how it is CSUMB. My tenure as an outstanding student graduating with a CSUMB GPA of 4.00 will significantly enhance my creativity, initiative, and leadership as I pursue a future as an intellectual in the Spanish Literature world. Moreover, I have collected substantial amount of achievement awards from Cabrillo College being an Alpha Gamma Sigma--HONOR SOCIETY CLUB--participant and also being in the executive board. Tutoring classmates has been an important preparation for college level comprehension. For the last year, I have been working at the Tutorial center in Cabrillo College as a Spanish and Math tutor; in fact, I find it to be a great opportunity to master certain subjects while I help others at the same time. Indeed, many educational opportunities have come from my classes in school, but some learning opportunities have developed from the library. Since I have a great affinity for books and specially learning, I have also had a strong interest in reading and learning new materials every day.
Finally, by looking ahead, I have intended to get myself heavily committed at San Jose State University, where I will attend for my Master’s degree in Spanish, to acquire excellent skills to ensure the first-class contribution in my future academic profession. I am confident that this opportunity, together with my consistently-cultivated strengths, are considered beneficial not only to myself or the academic institutions I have attended and plan to attend, but also to my community and the world as a whole. As previously mentioned, in a world full of intellectual wonder, the ability to open the boundaries of knowledge rests within the limits of education. Education spreads the best knowledge we possess in the present, so we can better explore the world we live in and make it a better place to live in.

The National Society of Leadership and Success.
